Similarity

Similarity

It is a question of scoring the semantic proximity of words; this score is within an interval between -1 and +1. This varies in the same sense as that of the weight of the same word.

A word with a score that approximates the value +1 will therefore have a strong similarity to the initial word with a default score of +1.

For example, the color “yellow” will be semantically close to the words “color”, “purple”, “white”, etc.

The similarity between the initial word “yellow” and the word “computer” will be weaker than that between the same initial word and the word “green”, which semantically speaking are very close.

A word with a score that approximates the value +1 will have a strong similarity to the original word, which defaults to +1.

The similarity index of two words or one word to a group of words will answer the question: how similar is our initial word to another word/group of words?
