Segments Sharing Feature

Segments Sharing Feature

The goal of this feature is to make the contextual Segments shareable/resharable from the source account to the contextual destination account and make them available on multiple GoldenFish accounts supporting the same language.

The sharing option is only available for contextual accounts that do have the segment sharing right and the source account has to define the sharing segment settings in terms of:

  • Editability,

  • Resharability and

  • Availability period

In terms of business interest, this allows us to have the possibility to send several existing segments directly to the clients' accounts and also to offer the GT activation/per Segment for all our clients.

Please find below the documentation explaining the sharing segments feature.

In case your contextual account has the segment sharing right, you will be able to share your segments from your source account to a contextual destination account supporting the same language, using the "Share" action at the segment level.

Share segment modal

After clicking on the “share” action, you will be redirected to the share segment modal which allows you to set your sharing segment settings:

.    Enable or disable the edition right in the destination account

.    Enable or disable the re-shareable right in the destination account

                 .    Select the destination account

.    Define the duration of shared segments in the destination account

Please Note that when you give the edition rights to the destination account, and the destination account user operates any changes in the shared segment, it will be also changed in the source account and vice versa (For instance, If I’m the destination account user and I add the word “electricity” to my segment, the word “electricity” will be automatically added to the source account).

Bulk share action

  • For those who want to share several segments from their accounts to a destination account, they have the possibility to do it using the bulk share action. As soon as you select 1+ segment in the project view, the Bulk actions button will be clickable and will allow you to access the bulk share modal in which you will be able to set the segment sharing settings:

.    Select the segments to share

.    Enable or disable the edition right in the destination account

.    Enable or disable the re-shareable right in the destination account

                 .    Select the destination account

.    Define the duration of shared segments in the destination account

If for some reason, some segments are not available for sharing, warning icons appear with tooltips describing the type of errors faced.

Shared Segment Board

This board provides an overview of all shared segments and their linked segments, allowing you to see shared segment details and perform different actions on them. At the shared segment level, you will be able to Edit, Move or Rename the segment.

  • You will also be able to display the linked shared segments and all information relating to them, including the ID, Name, Project, Destination Account, Date of last update, date of sharing, status and availability date/period. At this level, you will be allowed to update the shared segment settings and delete it (Stop the sharing).

3- Shared segments filters

  • You can manage filters on the board by using the tables ‘Shared Segments Filters’  (Project, type and language) and/or  ‘Linked Segments Filters’ (Destination account, End of availability etc) to make it easier to found the shared segment you’re looking for.

Please note that the shared segments disappear from the destination account when they expire (reach the end date of the sharing availability) but they are still displayed in the source account (with inactive status).
