Create contextual segment from uploaded CSV file
For users who already have a list of keywords and would simply like to build their segments, they will be able to upload their words directly to a segment core in the segment creation menu via CSV file (in utf-8 format).
1- File upload
Using the upload icon in each segment core, the users have the possibility to open the upload CSV modal allowing them to choose the correct separator, choose the CSV file to upload (in utf-8 format), indicate if the file contains a header, and, click on "Next" button to access the list of ambiguous words to clarify.
Please Note: that you can upload one CSV file per segment core and the upload button is available only when the core is empty.
2- Ambiguous words clarification
ambiguous words are words from the user’s CSV file where it is unclear whether they are common or proper nouns. In this step, you will be able to clarify this by clicking on the word under the relevant column, which will then move the word to the “Matched” word list.
3- Choose at least one favorite:
In this modal, the user can see both the matched words uploaded from the CSV file and the clarified words in the previous step. To continue the process, the user should add at least one word from the displayed matched words as a Favorite by clicking on the chosen word. With this step, the user defines which words will be the basis for the weight computing in a segment.
In the event that the file contains words that do not exist in the Smart Lexicon, a brief notification message will appear in the upper right indicating the list of words that were not matched. Once satisfied, the user clicks on next to create the segment core based on the CSV file.
As a result of the insertion, the exact number of matching URLs, the Impressions Estimate and a list of the top 100 matching URLs will appear with a preview of its content matching your set of keywords.
If satisfied, the user can save the new segment or continue editing the segment by adding new keywords and suggestions that were not in the uploaded word list.
